Masterminds
Ahh, comedies. Still failing to gain a laugh with its terrible plots whilst studios decide which comedic actors in the small sector should feature in it. This time we have
Zach Galifianakis (who's managed to keep the weight loss made for
Birdman) and
Kristen Wiig. Pass.
Mad Max: Fury Road
In what may be the final trailer for the new instalment to the
Mad Max franchise, there's not much else to add that I haven't already stated already in the countless other teasers. Nevertheless, I'm still excited to see the final product.
Spy
Still not interested. No good jokes, uninteresting storyline and
Melissa McCarthy. Pass!
Poltergeist
JUMP SCARE! Whilst there's no denying there were goosebumps present when viewing this trailer, and the editing is well done, there still isn't anything screaming "See me!". It looks like a typical horror film, albeit one with production values, with the usual tropes.
Sinister 2
Pretty much the same response to this as to
Poltergeist, except this is a sequel rather than a remake. I'm intrigued how much of this is similar to the first
Sinister though...not that seeing the film will help.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
I'm surprised that I actually like the look of this film. It features a
Fault in Our Stars-like relationship and a conflict between friends which will likely be clichéd as heck. But perhaps it's the direction and editing which really sells the film and the cast at hand - mostly unknown to me aside from
Nick Offerman, and he's barely in this trailer. Maybe something to keep and eye on.
Hot Pursuit
And we're back to bad comedies. Next!
Terminator: Genisys
I still hate the title. And this trailer is waaaay too spoilery with its twist revolving around a certain character, Don't watch the trailer! Anywho, it still looks like an alright film - just with a terrible marketing department!
Ant-Man
The first trailer, whilst certainly interesting because it's Marvel Studios, was somewhat generic by comparison of other action film trailers. This, on the other hand, has significant signs of improvement and a lot more heart. The visuals look really good, the editing is slick and the idea that a final battle between
Paul Rudd and Yellowjacket takes place in a world of toys just makes me excited to see the film. Plus, Thomas the Tank Engine.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
And here's the trailer everyone has been talking about! Whilst I'm still not converted into a
Star Wars fan (a revisitation may be in order), there's no denying that Episode VII looks really good, and the promotional material is selling it incredibly well. Sure, it's selling a lot on the fan moments - such as Han Solo (
Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca appearing at the very end - but it's working for non-fans like myself too. But approach with trepidation, as this is
JJ Abrams were talking about here.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice
Taking a page straight out of Marvel's book and releasing the trailer officially following it being leaked earlier on that day, DC have released the first teaser for the next instalment to their Cinematic Universe, and it looks...okay. There's no denying that I won't see this film, but it seems to be lacking something which I cannot put my finger on. I love the idea that Superman is both a saint and a devil in the eyes of the public, but I kinda want to see more of
why they're fighting. I know this is only a first tease, but tease a little more please!
