Trailer Talk: The Fantastic Jurassic Legend XXL

Fantastic Four
As part of yet another superhero movie leakage (following on from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and apparently the post-credits sting for Avengers: Age of Ultron), Fox swiftly uploaded it to their own account, and the trailer is an improvement on the first. Still rather generic, and it's a little hard seeing Miles Teller as a super genius grown-up as he acts a bit child-like, but the Thing looks alright in action, and there's a tad more detail into what actually happens - good for a film filled with secrecy.

Jurassic World
Aw man I am pumped. This presumably final trailer for the Jurassic sequel looks amazing, now that various effects have been perfected and that we get a good look at the indigenous creature hunting down everything and everyone. Suffice to say I'm excited for this film.

Mr Holmes
With a bit more detail into the actual case at hand against the short (but sweet) teaser released earlier this year, Mr Holmes still looks an intriguing addition to the Sherlock Holmes mythos. I love the idea that his mysteries are being turned into films and that Watson fictionalised the ending to his unsolved case, but the journey for that case could be a stumbling point. Perhaps not, but time will tell.

Tomorrowland: A World Beyond
As the release for the highly-secretive picture comes every closer, we still have little insight as to what is going on - which I love. This trailer consists mainly of a singular action sequence with George Clooney and Britt Robertson and little else, but I'm glad of it. But why do I prefer the little of this but more from Fantastic Four? Because it has a lot more to prove. This has Brad Bird - ticket sold.

The Little Prince
This is an interesting film, integrating various animation styles into an overarching story. I know very little on the actual tale, but I can only assume that the story that the film is based on is told mainly through the stop-motion sequences, with the CG animation telling a separate story influenced by it thanks to the elder character voiced by Jeff Bridges. It's appealing only in a visual sense, but could be an early frontrunner for Best Animated Feature come award season - depending on the actual quality of the storytelling.

Black Mass
What a career-turner for Johnny Depp, in this short but oddly tense teaser for the Whitey Bulger biopic released later this year. After going through something of a rough patch over the last three-four years, he may have finally found the role for him that doesn't require silly hats or accents. Many are already crying out for an Oscar for him - I'd rather wait and see more before giving him the accolade - but this may be a good film. May.

The Visit
Well hello M Night Shyamalan, welcome to my site! Your Visit here won't be long, as you appear to have made a rather poor horror film. Exit is on the left.

Ted 2
The crude-mouthed talking teddy bear returns for the second trailer for the film, and there's still not much going for it for non-fans. From Amanda Seyfreid smoking pot at the office to the Super Bowl gag repeat, it looks like same-old same-old and stuff that's been done to death before in either much better ways or to the same effect. Sorry Seth McFarlane, but in my eyes this is just a new Million Ways on your resume.

The Last Witch Hunter
In my eyes, this is Vin Diesel's answer to last year's Hercules, by which a man hunts various beasts and beings into an old timey land. Whilst there's more mysticism in this case, it doesn't look any more interesting - even if he may face a Groot-like being.

Irrational Man
It's no secret that Woody Allen has a consistant storyline with older men entering some form of relationship with younger women, It's something that's gone on for years and is a formula that tends to work. In this case, there doesn't appear to be any break in that trend, and the film does have some form of appeal to it. It might win critics over following Magic in the Moonlight, but does have the ability to.

Legend
The Kray Brothers - a pairing that once took England by storm and now may do so again via cinema screens. Whilst Tom Hardy's casting is questionable, this looks like a very strong feature and could very well earn some awards coverage come 2016. Fingers crossed that is the case.

Absolutely Anything
It's a British Bruce Almighty! With added aliens and talking dogs to boot, for that English feel. I do like what I see, with the premise being an okay one which works well without the load of religion on its back. That said, and I say it with a heavy heart, Robin Williams is miscast as the dog. His voice just doesn't fit in against the English feel. But I'll allow it for his final role.

San Andreas
CRISIS ALERT! I'm spotting more and more cliches with every trailer. Now Dwayne Johnson lost his wife in this disaster? Another cross on the bingo card. Still little interest in this film.

Magic Mike XXL
Suddenly, abs! The second trailer for the first sequel to the stripper film, there's a small bit of insight into the story but all eyes are on the prize - shirtless men. Lots of shirtless men. Again, not seen the first film, but this trailer would rather show the appeal seeing as it's expected that's what people paid for last time.

Ricki and the Flash
It's this year's Hope Springs - Meryl Streep in a regular Oscar-free role about family/love and rekindling...now with music! Gone is the possible appeal for this film. Suffragette will save you Streep, don't worry.

Vacation
The National Lampoon franchise returns as they pass the baton to the younger crowd once again. A quick rundown of the last film and a not-so subtle joke about doing a reboot later, and we have typical road trip comedy. Perhaps stick the original, unless you want to see more of Chris Hemsworth's junk.

Accidental Love
I have no words. What is this movie?!

Dope
Hi there Tony Revolori! I see you there, hiding on the sidelines in this somewhat interesting trailer. I'm a little confused by the plot (is it a smart kid blending in?) but there may be some appeal yet, and direction looks fine and it is occasionally attempting to be witty. One to look out for, perhaps.
